Grants and Awards!

From Drop Box

Baltimore Free Farm is proud to announce that we have been recognized by our community for our efforts at the Ash Street Community Garden!

At the CGRN 16th Annual Greening Celebration on October 19th, 2011, we received a Commitment to Clean Water Award from the Parks and People Foundation, for our efforts at restoring and advocating clean waterways in Baltimore, through our development of drip irrigation,  rainwater collection, and other water management systems!

We were also proud to receive a Governor’s Volunteer Service Award in recognition of our long-term commitment to create volunteer service opportunities for the citizens of Maryland.

Baltimore Free Farm has also just received a grant from Parks and People for continuing to develop our model greenhouse. We will be covering the greenhouse with poly-carbonate sheets, insulating, and developing an experimental bio-heating system to enable us to increase the number and variety of seedlings for Give-A-Way days. Our seedlings next year will be found in all CGRN member gardens throughout Baltimore City!
