“Shout Out” issued to volunteers.

THANK YOU for your hard work at the last volunteer workparty everyone. Great improvements were made to the project this last week and we are now one step closer to the endless bounty accruing on the horizon from Team Prawn. Our workparty engineered a retaining wall and began building a 8′x15′ raised pad for our two 300 gallon wastewater treatment tanks. These tanks will ensure that prawn spawn won’t escape into the Chesapeake Bay watershed. The tanks will enable us to also store water for reintroduction into our closed loop recirculating aquaculture system!

Prawn Workparty!

This Saturday from 11am-6pm, Baltimore Free Farm work party! Help us set up more components of our aquaponics prawn system! We need to set up waste water collection tanks so we can prevent accidental introduction of the prawn into our watershed. This is important because we can’t get the permit from Department of Natural Resources to import them into the Maryland without this setup. Bring gloves!
